We encourage scientists and entrepreneurs to contact us at the idea stage, before a company is formed or a business plan has been written. Within the life sciences, we look broadly across:
- Therapeutics
- Medical devices
- Platform technologies
Criteria
Novelty: we look for cutting edge discoveries and technologies that have the potential to yield products with considerable market differentiation.
Significant Unmet Need: the technology should have the potential to address a clearly defined gap in the market and should be "need to have" versus "nice to have" from an end-user perspective.
Protectability: we look very closely at the intellectual property position and will get involved even before patents have been filed if the technology is protectable.
Scientific Credibility: reproducible data, peer reviewed papers, grants, and/or the history of the lab from which the technology originated are all considered in our review process. |
